Protein Rice Krispies are a fantastic option for whipping up speedy and satisfying protein-packed snacks. Let's kick things off with a rundown of the ingredients to make sure you're all set:

  • 3 cups of rice cereal (like Rice Krispies)
  • 1 scoop (about 30g) of your favorite protein powder (vanilla or chocolate work well)
  • 3 tablespoons of honey or maple syrup
  • 3 tablespoons of nut butter (such as almond butter or peanut butter)
  • Optional: dark chocolate chips, dried fruit, nuts, or seeds for added flavor and texture

Prepare the Rice Cereal

In a large mixing bowl, pour the rice cereal and set it aside.

Mix the Wet Ingredients

In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the honey (or maple syrup) and nut butter. Microwave the mixture for about 30 seconds or until it becomes smooth and easily pourable. Stir well to combine.

Add Protein Powder

Mix the protein powder into the warm honey and nut butter mixture until it forms a smooth paste. If you're running low on Protein Powder or don't have any check out the link below to browse your options.

Combine Ingredients

Pour the protein mixture over the rice cereal. Use a spatula or wooden spoon to gently fold and stir until all of the rice cereal is evenly coated with the protein mixture. If you're adding any optional ingredients like chocolate chips or dried fruit, mix them in at this stage.

Press into Pan

Line a baking dish or pan with parchment paper. Transfer the coated rice cereal mixture into the pan. Use a spatula or the back of a spoon to press the mixture firmly and evenly into the pan.

Chill and Set

Place the pan in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to allow the protein rice krispies to set

Cut and Serve

Once set, remove the protein rice krispies from the pan and place them on a cutting board. Use a sharp knife to cut into squares or bars.

Your protein rice krispies are ready to eat! Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week.
